Angles from parallel lines cut by a transversal (corresponding, alternate, and co-interior), the 180-degree angle sum of a triangle, and vertical angles. Questions often chain these to find an unknown angle.

How do I use triangle similarity?

When two triangles share equal angles, their corresponding sides are proportional. Set up a ratio of matching sides and solve. Identifying which sides correspond is the step that prevents a wrong proportion.

Can I trust the figure's appearance?

No. Work from stated facts and marked measures, not from how the drawing looks. Assuming a right angle or equal sides the figure only seems to show is the most common trap in this skill.
